In our globalised world, standards are everywhere, they make things fit and work together. It has never been more important to understand and follow standards; and the related documentation.
An organisation must comply with those standards recognised in the country or region in which it operates. Should a product fail and/or someone is injured or killed, then your business may be held liable for damages that could close it down. Insurance companies will not provide cover if ‘proper practice' or ‘due diligence' has not been employed.
In addition, if your organisation is registered to one of the international standards such as ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 14001:2015, you will be expected to ensure that your copies of these standards are to the current revision.
You receive two emails each month, one has an attachment listing the standards monitored for you and the second one lists the changes that have taken place since the previous report. This saves you having to check through the list
